Notable updates to the platform and this site. Newest first.

site-v6.1

A clearer description and a global site

The site now says what CargoGen does in one line: freight forwarding software that does the data entry. AI reads your commercial invoices, packing lists and booking emails into the shipment record, and bills of lading, manifests and invoices are generated from it.

What we stopped saying

Customs filing, sanctions screening, HS classification and delay prediction are no longer described as features, because they are not. Customs is tracked against the shipment and filed by your broker. Accounting connectors are on the roadmap.

Site redesign: six modules, wiki-truthful

We rebuilt the marketing site around the actual product. CargoGen now exposes six modules instead of four, Shipments, Bills of Lading, Customs, Finance, AI and Live Visibility, each mapping to what the product wiki documents.

Live vessel positions, the AI features and the workflow engine each have their own module page. The visual system moved from hairlines to a pure white canvas with dark editorial heroes.

First forwarders live on CargoGen

CargoGen's first production tenants went live this month: freight forwarders running their daily shipments, house bills of lading and commercial invoices on the platform.

What is in v1

  • Shipments: one record per job across sea, air, road and rail, with multi-leg routing, containers, milestones, charges and tasks.
  • Bills of lading: house and master bills, air waybills and manifests generated from the shipment, with carrier-matched templates and revisions.
  • Document reading: commercial invoices and vendor bills read by AI into a draft the operator confirms.
  • Customs tracking: entries tracked against the shipment with status, broker, references and documents.
  • Finance: receivable and payable charges with margin, multi-currency invoicing, debit and credit notes.
  • Live visibility: live AIS vessel positions on a world map, dashboard KPIs and reports.

What is next

Container-level carrier milestones, a customer tracking link and more accounting connectors.
